Hovering on top of undulating waves, rising to the swell like a gentle roller coaster, the wharf stretching out beyond the dock, its long arm extending beyond the shore into the deep blue green harbour shimmering in a shower of sweet Sydney summer sun, sparkling like a sea of diamonds on a bed of sapphires. Low humming cool breeze whistles below the glass ceiling of the wharf, tightening its beam and grasp against my body, pulling my shirt back firmly against my chest. Sea salt ocean spray smells fresh and clear. Boats and ships manoeuvring the harbour like a game of checkers, bounding over gentle swells, smaller boats riding the wakes of larger ships, cheeks of white resplendent sails filling with air and teetering against the wind, tinging of clanging metal and roaring of the bellies of ships. Salt in the air so thick it dries my mouth, wrestling my pallet into submission. Eyes…
