Title: hammock 3

Those shamrocks you find at street corners
Where guinness is claimed to be sold
They used to be smokey, used to be dark
They used to wrap up their fold.

How many steerage sailed off from famine
They stopped at Ellis Isle
How many steerage lain on the floor
Not even a sailorís hammock.

No need apply for Boston jobs
So up springs a pub with a shamrock
And the job queue builds
Patronage, Tammany Hall, Irish self protection.

No more the cattle stall floor on a boat
A machine for Irish protection
No potato, no work, no hammock
No more, thus declares the shamrock.
