Title: Padlock
Post by: andrewpayne55 on June 03, 2018, 05:21:26 PM
These gates have been unopened
For as long as I can recall
The rusted chains that bind them shut are covered in cobwebs and dust.
A padlock seals them together,
Hidden amongst the decay
Creaking in the breeze in a song of despair, searching for the one with the key.
I thought I had found the owner once
Many years ago, but her key snapped in the padlock and she was never seen again.
But recently I discovered
Someone who carries the tool
To open my gates and discard all the chains so she can warm my heart
