Life's an understated railroad
it's hard to move on by foot
but you just have to catch the right train.

I'll take a stab at this.  I'm trying to work on my skills with metaphors.

I'll admit I took more than 5 minutes to do this.  Sorry.  Next time I'll stick to the 5-minute rule and maybe try to write a sentence for whatever metaphors I come up with.

I tried to incorporate the 7 senses Pat Pattison talks about: sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch, organic (outward bodily actions), and kinesthetic (inward body feeling; relation of self to surroundings).
Life is a green explosion.
Life is a fragrant water.
Life is God's echo.
Life is a sweet and sour century.
Life is an icy clock.
Life is a crawling giant.
Life is a spinning tree.

How about: Life is the souls prelude in the opus of eternity
