Wonderfully written poem— wow, in 10 min!? I like the sense of quiet introspection, tinged with unspoken personal regret. Have you a melody?

Wonderful insight into a reluctant young adult, trying to find his way, maybe trying to live down the “been cruel”. The last sentence really sticks with me: “And the gray skies of destiny send down a hand that flicks me down a road I’d never thought to travel.” Isn’t that just the way life plays out sometimes? Thank you.

Your writing is touching. Sad things in the lives of pro football players. Talent and athleticism launches them, but the potential for injury is doom over the shoulder. Really nice writing.

This is a cool bit of writing— I love that you captured the sense of movement and energy in the bees’ activity.

Ewww, fuzzy Yellowjacket! I like your idea of ‘we all have our job to do’— bee and human. Where would you go with this stream next, had your time been up?

Bzzzzzzz I love your honey but you scare me! My mind hurts again with the violent wasp sting on my child thigh under my shift at the lake that year. Then again it was the embarrassment of crying so hard I puked. Today I’m grown into a near-panicked adult with a honeybee floating near on a sweet breeze. Shame on me, I wish they’d live elsewhere, but I love honey and the fruits and veggies they bequeath us. It’s love-hate, somehow... a symbiosis that is essential for us all. Vanilla beans soaked in honey with saffron diluted with crystalline water makes a luscious syrup. The warm fragrance cloud of vanilla greets my nose and sweetens my tea... I need to learn to love the bee.

Hahaha, I really liked the setting of mood with the phrase “look around to make sure no-one is looking”. The viewpoint of the child in each of us.

Nice. The sighs of mild dissatisfaction with a cold but not snowy winter. Interesting views.

Object Writing Word Of The Day / Stool

Smooth burly wood, seemingly polished by decades of sitters, none known to me. I shyly stroke the finish— it is not coarse or artificial but speaks loudly to me, demanding my worship. Just by looking I can smell the sweetness of something like sandalwood, enveloping me, capturing me. I once was a woodcarver, and used my hand tools to refine the native shapes of found wood. Sometimes a thread of red ran down to my fingertips— my tools might let me know when the day’s work was done. In the end, the sensual shapes of wood always won, and now my stool has a petite table to sit with. Next will be a large and lovely root stump, smoothed to lusciousness by wind and sand, placed at the front door to my heart.
