Jacob fought nine bloody battles under three kings and was never even scratched.

His fearless attitude was realized as he looked down at the feathers that protruded out of his chest.

This skinny flying object lacerated thru his armor like butter as he sat there watching his red life force dripping down his side soaking his shirt.

The sound of whaling all around him as men cried in agony.

The smell of his own demise and rotting corpses filed his senses.

He was tasting death.

Feeling naked and adrift among the agonizing dying.

His breath wheezing and choking slower and slower.

He broke the arrows wood just in front of the feathers and decided he would have a better chance to push it thru than to pull it out.

He placed the broken part in his mouth and slammed his shield into the protruding end.

Shrieking as he spit out the part of the arrow he bit thru, he pulled out the tip that now extended out of his back.

Laying there fading away, he prayed for clarity of his life's purpose.
