We leave shore in the early morning
In our search of a strange new world.
The captain has his mission
And we rely on his every word.

We start by sailing West
Towards the North Atlantic Sea.
The path we take is perilous
It is plain for all to see.

At first it is all smooth sailing
So we slowly let down our guard.
Enjoying our journey through tranquil waters
Whilst following the stars.

But then came the source of nightmares
A cataclysmic storm.
The likes of which was so terrifying
That we wished we had never been born.

The ship sustained so much damage
Our sails had been torn to shreds.
Many men had been injured
And many more were now dead.

Before long we all turned on our captain
Who had led us all to our doom.
He had led us astray with the promise of riches
And brought us a watery tomb.

So this is my final confession
As I pass over to the unknown.
I leave this message sealed in a bottle
In the hope that it makes its way home.
