Waves are the slaves of the wind
Blow in Alaska, do the Eddie Aikau
Forty feet of green glass
With a board’s white flying wake.

Blow in the Aleutians, pound the North Shore
Kam Highway crowded with cars
All parked above Waimea Bay
Surf sounding in crescendos.

They help them out on jet skies
The monster where Eddie would go
The break is huge for giant swells
On the slope of the entire bay.

In summertime, the water’s so clear
The waves tame on the beach
Kids rock jumping twenty foot leaps
The crazy shows even then.

The Aleutian storms clear the beach
Waves wash it all to the stream
The jumping rock is drowned over
The surfers are set to begin.
