My skin burns under the dulling blade of the razor. Little hairs line the drain, shaving creme is smeared like paint on its can and in the sink. Dark green chalkboard adorned with faded cursive. Dust gathers in little mounds on the ends of the metal tray that protrudes from the bottom. Trying to push a lesson through the heads of thirty eight-year-olds, stating and rephrasing lessons, living for the light of understanding in the sleepy eyes of someone beyond the first row. Single-colored book covers, some shedding glitter. Pens lined up on a glossy wooden desk. The scent of coffee curls and rises in the lounge, soda machine hums and the chatter of a couple hundred students is audible trickling up the hall from the cafeteria. Glass window that looks into the secretary's office. Art projects hang on the walls, a smiling girl duplicated twenty times, some hands obviously heavier than others. Curls of purple and blue. Slamming of aluminum, clicking of locks. Oily pizza, sweet muffins. Back sore from sitting all day, you turn slightly in your seat to take off some of the tension
