Four in the audience, only four
For Blade Runner the Sequel
I mean, I guess, OK, itís a matinee
But four, really? only four?

There were more people working the nine-cineplex
More than the audience there
The popcorn was popped, I got a pizza
And the speakers were set too high on bass.

The old black and whites, the horse chase
Those had real ricochets
These gun blasts are played on pipe organs
Itís as if talkies had never come.

The seats now recline, theyíre made for a nap
With buttons to glide the bed shape
The cinematography still likes a big screen
But itís hard to feel a show there.

So maybe a drive-in would be the best way
These days to take in a show
Those tinny speakers could play ricochets
But canít boom when a deringer goes off.
