Sure smells like hatred, shooting people in a flood
Snakes and fire ants floating by
Sure smells like hatred, bloating bodies
Bloating bodies left out for the flies.

Katrina’s America, Heck of a job
The stadium filling with shit
Katrina’s America, Got to get with it
Call them looters for target practice.

Refugees in Maryland, refugees in Texas
Private interests taking over the schools
People smile when the Saints could still win at football
But neighborhoods still rot after all.

People sicken in trailers from formica glue
Their neighbors scattered all away
Katrina’s America, unprepared, unready
To care for her people’s greatest songs.

Katrina’s America, Heck of a job
Next you need some more foreign war
Katrina’s America, fallen on the floor
TV on, choking on a pretzel.
