Writing songs regularly for a few years now.

They used to sing about the bathtub ring
Some cleaner that maybe had bubbles
Sing a jingle on the radio
So you’d know that ring was an issue.

The car radio with its silver buttons
The presets without distraction
They’d go silent on a long trip
Not silent, they’d fill up with static.

But tune again to a Boston station
And again you could hear jingles
Songs of need for keeping clean
Or how some gasoline is special.

But in Boston there was a dinosaur station
So we kids all wanted to fill there
Before Shell was evil and still gave out steak knives
Boston and dinosaur gas.

The TV still off at Grandmother’s house
Except for Macy’s parade
No body bags stacked on ship decks
For the kids, the TV stayed off.

And kids got clean and made bathtub rings
In Swampscott then visited Boston
Peabody Museum with whale bones
And the totems of Turtle Island.
