The surface was slightly crumbly, but feeling towards the center gave way to a soft patch of gooey texture. Bringing it closer to my mouth revealed the scent of dark chocolate... Antioxidants. This brick of sugar, flour, eggs, etc. was a tingling concoction of guilt and pleasure thrown into the grasp of humanity as punishment for existence. It was a little lighter than the dirt you'd see on one of those sketchy back-roads on the way home, but shared the attribute of under-the-radar evil. Biting into the square of Satan, dopamine flooded my brain and the salivation in my mouth increased tenfold. My stomach screamed of pleasure, but my thighs screeched in protest. The delight ended as soon as it started and my chocolate-induced high was waning at a considerable level. The search for another was in vain and I sat there, sulking in the defeat of overindulgence. Grasping the napkin I was using to hold the brownie, I could hear the scratchiness of the crumbs rub against the material
