The barn brownie is very shy
Not the sort to be seen
But heíll polish the tack on a winter night
When you leave him a bowl of warmed cream.

Wrinkled they say, Iíve never seen him
Wrinkled and small and stooped
But he wants to help with little tasks
So he does in the red painted barn.

The smells of the barn must be pleasing to him
The warmth of freshly stacked hay
For heíll sweep up the straws that fall from the stack
Keep order in the bale stacked hay.

A bowl of cream, a slice of apple
Not much for a brownie kept barn
Keep well away from the rest of the fae
But the brownie will bring you no harm.
