Ye without sin, cast the first stone
When each grips one in a hand
Rubbing the thumb to settle the grip
A stone for the slaughter of man.

Knapped out flint, the tapered spearhead
Skilled tapping away of flakes
Leaved its tip in a femur, another death
From the cast of just one stone.

Were we without sin when flint arrowheads
Took a man in the Alps in the back
Lying in wait or giving chase
Just a game, just a game from our youth?

Cast the first stone, oh ye without sin
While the master draws in the dirt
Stone of earth in your firm grip
Show you’re sinless and ready to work.

Feel deeply your innocence
The righteousness of your rage
Feel it deep and the skill of the cast
The stone thrown hard on its way

Crack of the stone hitting on flesh
Innocence becomes the past.
