Slightly sweaty in a long sleeve button-down shirt and tie in the warm early fall afternoon.  Feeling out of place in this workshop with this attire, out of my comfort zone, like a newborn.  Feeling naked, like I need to swaddle my ignorance.  The boss conducts his examination, poking and prodding my brain, testing my verbal reflexes, and I'm wishing I could check the Apgar score.  The smells remind me of some past life, the oil and the steel and the dust, and my eyes open wide with wonder.  Mouth tastes minty, a comfort habit developing, I nurse the mint until I feel my shoulders begin to settle and my stiff neck begin to bend.
