“I’m all in” the hostile yells, pushing his towers of chips into the middle of the artificial-turf green felt. Cigar and left-handed cigarette smoke fill my basement crowding out the usually mildew and murpha. Our poker game is not exciting, just the guys getting together. But the hostile has hijacked the boring and now everyone’s ticks are out. Joey’s biting his nails, Fitzy is twirling his long hair, and Gerry is bouncing his left leg. Tony’s brow has sweat so much that he can taste its salty flavor. He lifts his hole cards once more. “Call!” He yells, not convincingly but in a what the heck way. He’s sitting on trips.
