10/9 - Fiddle
The smooth polished spruce top of my violin resonates with soul. I may not be classically trained but my fiddle weeps songs of longing and tradition. Her accomplice, the bow, brings these tunes to life. The chalky chemical aroma of rosin brings us all comfort. Firmly pressed against my chin the horse hair pulls at the strings coaxing deep long drawn cries with each motion. Coulessed fingers dance along the fretless neck searching for a new partner with each count. Iím enveloped by the motion, the music and my thoughts are silent.
