The boot hits the ground, sound waves reverberate out from his foot rumbling against the walls of the narrow hallway. The smoke from his cigarette slithers its way through the air. His long coat parts like two stone pillars as he reaches for the pocket hidden inside. His long thin gangly fingers reach inside and take hold of the cold metallic key. Its grooves aren't cut in the typical jagged pattern as with most keys. The silver edges are curvy and round. They curl out like strange tentacles that fit into a peculiar kind of lock. Though it was tucked away in the mysterious dark pocket it is cold, like ice, as if it had absorbed some kind of frozen energy into its core.
