I can feel the blood in my face draining, and I donít need a mirror to know it is completely white. My stomach, full of cotton candy and cinnamon sugar fried dough, is dropping, maybe from the weight of the blood leaving my face. A little bit of fried dough popped back up, and I taste it again, without the sweetness. I stare forward, tilting my head up to look at the gigantic 5 story roller coaster. My girlfriend pokes me in my side with a laugh. She mouths ďitíll be funĒ but the words fly over me, and I didnít hear a word of what she said. The line is short today, and I have no time to stall or back out. Strapped into the seat with a metal restraint, I feel like a prisoner making the initial walk into the unknown world. A thumbs up from the bald, middle aged operator sends us off.
