Already homesick heading west on 80. It's a means to fulfill hunger and a lonely angst that's getting myself to this next town. As I'm rolling, the moon light complacent on the dash, the radio turned down, and the inside car lights just a measly dim glow. I feel a jolt in the car, like a hiccup. I then hear an irregular shift in the transmission. "PHEWWWWW".... the car dies. My jaw drops. This can't be real! I barely make it over to the shoulder. Barely creeping, the wheels are slowing, my heart is racing, and the once unwanted company of tiredness has gone away. I feel confused and lost.
