Skeleton of metal, vinyl draped over it, rusty spots make it hard to open. Rain still sneaks through the hole, Chinese water torture down my neck. Kaleidoscope of traffic, cars and christmas lights in soggy storefronts, smoke streaming from the rooftop vents. My face reddens as I adjust to the warmth of inside, eyes dry and blinking furious. Smell of croissants and cinnamon, candles drip with flavored names like Christmas Yuletide and Candied Pear.
Lush grass folds over the damp countryside, my boots slog and I notice there's is no one else around. Wind tries to take my umbrella, whipping tight and hard I hold on for dear life.
