Getting ready. The school year is in full swing, mom peeks her head in my room saying... " it's time to get up". I wrestle, claw, and bite at the warmth of my blanket. Finally, I arise and flick on the light switch near the door. My fan up above begins to propel and the light scares every last shadow away. I search with crescent eyes around for the faded levi's I had worn the day before. I raise my leg preparing for the abrasive stitching to wake my sleeping leg hairs up almost losing balance but maintaining control. I walk over to the dresser that a top is clustered with all sorts of paper wads and permission slips unsigned and reach for the bottom drawer. Pulling the two fading gold colored handles toward me, I grab a t- shirt. Next, a b- line from my room to the bathroom. Flicking on that light and grabbing the comb. I'm about ready....
