Sawdust filled the garage as I listened to the last bit of the game on the radio while my dad finished his woodworking project. Greasy potato chips and a coke filled my taste buds with the satisfaction of feeling like I was at the game, except for the smell of freshly cut wood. Dave Niehaus, broadcasting live, filling my body with adrenaline and dopamine. My oh my. Radio touched every one of us that day, unable to make it to the big game. Soundwaves transmitted a feeling to all that day.

Years later, I drive northwest, fumbling around, my fingers searching for the grooves to find the right station. Phone dead, nothing but a brick, lying next to me. Wrapped up in the instant gratification that Spotify has to offer, I forgot about the way the radio seemed to hit my senses. It knew what I was feeling or could make me feel a certain way. Radio was my access point.
