The little mouse darted in every direction.  Ever vigilant, it's beady eyes constantly looking for hidden dangers, ears perked up listening for the slightest hint of movement.  It came from a long line of mice that had lived in the old apartment building.  It knew every inch of the building by heart, including every escape route.  It's tiny nose twitched, unable to find the slightest hint of food in the air.

Suddenly, brightness, a flick of the switch and the mouse was exposed. It scurried past the paper bag, ruffled as it almost ran through it.  The human clunked around, trying to locate the mouse.  The big clumsy oaf easily detectable with each creepy footstep.  After a while, a click, and darkness.
