A wealth of knowledge sat on the desk.  The cover wrinkled and worn like an old man's face, still protecting the valuable information in side.  Binding held together by a thin metal snake, carefully coiled through each slice of paper.  Inside lay multi-colored scribbles, blue and black.  Wisdom imparted by a sorcerer leading the lecture.  A wise man high up in an ivory tower, coming down briefly to share his wisdom with the impressionable youth  The notebook  had graphs depicting the wonders of math and science.  Complex ideas carefully whittled down to little wooden statues, much easier to understand.  Song lyrics written on lines, margin, and open space, the product of a creative process grasping and grabbing to find a complete theme or idea.  But what was used for simple storage, was really another tool in the box, the notes, musings, and drawings part of acquiring and discovering knowledge.
