Crisp and new, virgin white pages.  Your spine creaks when breached for the first time.  The smell of paper waiting to be defiled.  I stare at your bland page, willing my brain to think of something to cover your pages.  My vessel, my frustration, my relief.  My pen glides smoothly over your icy surface, telling my story, confessing my sins, sharing my laughter.  College ruled only please.  My tiny compact handwriting can't fill up that wide ruled stuff.  My handwriting, tight and anxious, just like my insides.  My hand cramps when I visit too long with you, the carpal tunnel shooting arrows through my wrist, swelling like a dead raccoon on the side of the road.  You hurt me and heal me.  Some pages torn out, crumpled to never see the light of day, their ragged edges a reminder that not all my ideas are great.  Humbling.  At least it's out now and not left to fester and rot.
