Laughter echoing, ricocheting off the cold and rough sandstone walls of the rectangular gymnasium building, the high vaulted ceiling absorbing the remainder of the giggling in a pool of sound, billowing out the unused aged chimney. Gym mats creaking and squeaking as they bear the light weight of my young classmates as they careen through the hall. Warm yellow sunlight beaming in through the enormous round-topped windows, flooding the hall with warmth. Wafts of dirty socks and over-used shoes. The balance beam the class focus, cueing up in excitement to take my turn. Light-brown and weathered, firm and rough. Peanut-butter residing from lunch, energising my steps on the cold mats…

Took a couple of days off over the long weekend as I was busy. Battled with this one! Amazing what a couple of days off can do...
