The familiar static sound buzzed as the small round electrical unit was clicked on by the weathered gentleman sitting on his wooden bench - always searching for a signal, never bothered even if he had to listen to the white noise. The indent in the wooden chair was like a stone cave shaped by a miner chipping away in an enclosed refuge after years of sitting in the same exact position. He would always sit in silence, and the quietest sounds would always be the loudest. The mechanism on the old door was like an old heavy anchor slamming the wooden hull of a ship after the ship mates would pull it from the sea with all of their might. Opened again. Sitting with his old love again. The comfort of the woman who has been by his side since the dawning of his manhood crept back into his spirit again. He'd never find another like her. He'd never hear a love like her. Its the only kind of love that can survive the silence. The swell of pride and emotion from a lifetime of dedication, almost spilling out up from inside the gut, and out of his chest - all in silence. Silence biting
