How long is a piece of string?
I hear you ask yourself
In response to how much time you will need
To learn to love yourself.

For time it is immeasurable
And the future is far away
Especially when you feel the struggle
Each and every day.

A string alone cannot hold the weight
That your conscious presses down
against your chest all night and day
It cannot save you when you are drowning.

Yet when you thread the strings together
You begin to form a rope
Something to hold on to
Something to help you cope.

A string can thread a tapestry
Can construct a work of art
Your doubt can lead to beauty
That comes pure from the heart.

With string you can start to heal the wounds
Of your body and of your mind.
Use your string to guide you forwards
And leave your doubts behind.
