Bile rises and falls in his throat like an upset geyser when he reads the word Boutonnière. It pops out from the screen, like blood shot and bulging cartoon eyes,  hovering like a severed head in the stage of his vision. Bouncing up and down, suspended in the air by some thick and invisible cream like substance. He could have sworn that he chewed, swallowed, digested and left his high school prom memories in a steaming pile of excrament somewhere on the side of a suburban gravel road years ago. This dead, bloated body at the bottom of the lake of his memories keeps surfacing, disturbing his otherwise carefully controlled peace. Even barb wire, security cameras, and beware of dog signs can't keep all the intruders out. He feels a rash like sensation bouqueting beneath the skin on his shoulders. An army of angry blood cells march through his arteries looking for the source of this upset. Awash in a flood of memories and feelings. Battered by conflicting tides of nauseating nastalgia, stinging embarrassment. He's closes his screen, returns to his life and is happy he never has to attend another prom ceremony.

I really like this "An army of angry blood cells march through his arteries looking for the source of this upset". Good job!
