I recently discovered the beauty of listening to music while walking on the beach. With Tokyo Hotels 'Monsoon' popping through my headphones (say whatever you want, I love that song) it feel like I am star in a videoclip, while walking quietly against a soft late summer breeze with my feet discolouring the wet sand with every step I take.

I made it a habit to pick up on plastic when I'm  on the beach. The pocket of my denim dungarees is already full of crumpled straws, caps and lolly sticks when I arrive at a medium-sized lagoon. I roll up my pipes and feel the water; it is wonderfully warm - a lot warmer than the sea. I see something sparkle in the water, and I step closer. In the shallow water a huge, elongated piece of white agricultural cover is gracefully floating just under the surface - like a haute couture over the top wedding dress in an underwater photo shoot. I sigh, of course I can't ignore this.

The romance of my walk is long gone when I arrive completely dirty and wet at the one trash can at the small parking lane at the start of the beach. With all my strength I push the
cover in the trash, while I wonder who the hell throws something like that overboard. My music stopped without me noticing. Time to go home.
