Hanging weightlessly like a rock in space, a near silent world occasionally bellowing low frequencies and high squeaks like a train heaving itself up a hill. The water wraps itself around me like a jelly ocean, warm like a bath and dreamy clear, the further I subsume myself the more translucent the water becomes, like gently sinking into a cloud. The respirator tastes rubbery and soft, stuck against my gums and inside my lips like an octopus clinging to its home. Cold air from the wheezing tank tastes like metal and sterile. The tank a protective shield of comfort on my back, hugging me like an odd friend. Drifting through the water like a leaf slowly and gently rolling through the air, my mask clear but for a trickling pool of water below my eyes jumping in excitement as I turn my head and kissing my skin cooly. Pinching some rough stern coral to stabilise myself, the coral bites back and cuts through my skin, a hazy blur of redness trickles outů
