Black liquorice blur smudging across the crunching ice, slithering like a snake moving at warp speed, hissing through the air, the puck cracks like a bullet against the plastic guard in front of bellowing audience, the crowd a musical instrument triggered by the quick snap of the puck. Sitting in the bleachers gazing over the vista of the erupting stadium, a volcano ready to explode as the puck enters the goal, steam rising and cool droplets of sweat trickle from my brow, malty ice cold beer lapping in my mouth like a disturbed pool as carbonated bubbles explode and tickle the roof of my mouth. Ice rink smells fresh and cool, like winter inside the building brewing tempestuously. Leaning back into hard plastic, the seat bending to my will as my back aches and I lengthen my muscles. A relaxing filmy daze over my eyes…
