Hello...I like what you have written here. I'm new to this site and quite excited about it. I haven't written for a while since I studied Lyric Writing online through Berklee last year but I do recall when you use the word 'like' it changes a metaphor into a simile. If you change what you have written by removing 'like' I think you may uncover very strong metaphors.
