Careering down the slippery river bank like a herd of baby elephants, the putty earth beneath my plod provided no grip. I skidded into a lone Eucalyptus crushing my ego to a rumpled heap.  Stars and birds looped around my wobbling head as my windpipe closed and my chest lurched upwards.  Nearby rosy picnic faces, turned to grayish gasps of fear.  I wrestled back tears of humiliation, gathering leaves of composure littered all around the foot of the tree.  Purple bruises puffed up like toadstools populating my lower limbs.  A scattering of grated skin lifted into the bitter tasting afternoon.  My swim suit torn and darts of bark and twigs woven through to pierce my skin beneath.  Clods of clay mingled through my hair in camouflage. I wished I could just disappear into the muddy water.  Like a crocodile and peer from just above the surface line until everyone had turned for home and forgotten all about the messy incident.
