Car screeches once, bumps then skids again on the oil. Smell of orange peel from the back seat, and the boys laughing their delight. My foot skids on the ice, cold morning, searching through my mp3 player, not even noticing. Sense of the world slipping underneath on the diagonal. 'Can I help you up?' A world of slippery, feeling like a dumb tourist. Snow on the mountain, and ice in the driveway. The stranger's hand steadies the ascent to vertical. Skid marks in the mud, days-old- grass already growing up in alfalfa-like sprouts up around- smell of caking earth rising up through the mid-morning sunshine. Bike-skid- my front tyre locked into the tram track, rolling through the metal - hands gripping the handle-bars, ready to move in any direction when it throws me. Release into a patch of tan-bark, surrounded by asphalt and concrete.

Welcome to the Forum ZZ..... my favorite line here was .. ' A world of slippery ' and the picture of the grass shoots as alfalfa sprouts.
